PRAYER FOR THE EVANGELIZATION PROJECT
DIOCESE OF PEMBROKE
Almighty God and Father, we give you thanks for the gift of Your Son,
given to us in Word and Sacrament, and for the many blessings and graces that You have poured
out upon the Diocese of Pembroke. Increase in us a longing for You, form us into your Holy image and unite us in one Body. Lord Jesus, support our communities in search of renewal so that we may rediscover the Gospel in all its freshness. Bless and strengthen our marriages and families,
and renew our clergy and religious. Enlighten us with Your Holy Spirit, to illuminate any darkness that is around us. Give us your Heart of Mercy, a heart that seeks the lost, ministers to the suffering, touches the lonely, and calls disciples into deeper relationship with You. Show us today those who, along our path, need you, and bestow upon us the courage of faithful witness in our words and actions. All praise and glory be to You, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, God forever and ever. Amen.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us.
St. Joseph, pray for us.
St. Columbkille, pray for us.

Prayer
Lord Jesus Christ,
we would like to become childlike
so that we can enter Your Kingdom.
Purify our hearts, thoughts and actions
to become like those of little children
and thus become the
greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Amen.

1 word for every year since Confederation.
We magnify the name of Jesus over Canada and declare that our trust is in You and You alone O Lord. We humble ourselves before You in repentance for our many grievous sins and plead Your Blood over our land. In this election, we pray You would cause us to elect candidates whose hearts are soft to Your will, who will stand for righteousness & who will have wisdom to govern Canada in these times. We pray that You would remove those who do not have Your heart, or wisdom, to govern Canada. For the sake of our children, and future generations, we ask that You would release great honour for Your Word upon all of Canada, that You would expose corruption in government and that You would convict Canadians from sea to sea to turn to You with all their hearts, souls, mind and strength. We thank You for Your mercy and grace. Amen.

LITANY OF HUMILITY
Oh Jesus meek and humble of heart, hear me.
From the desire of being esteemed...
DELIVER ME, JESUS (repeat after each request:
From the desire of being loved...
From the desire of being extolled...
From the desire of being honored...
From the desire of being praised...
From the desire of being preferred to others...
From the desire of being consulted...
From the desire of being approved...
From the fear of being humiliated...
From the fear of being despised...
From the fear of suffering rebukes...
From the fear of being calumniated...
From the fear of being forgotten...
From the fear of being ridiculed...
From the fear of being wronged...
From the fear of being suspected...
That others may be loved more than I...
JESUS, GRANT ME THE GRACE TO DESIRE IT! (repeat)
That others may be esteemed more than I...
That, in the opinion of the world, others may increase and I may decrease...
That others may be chosen and I set aside...
That others may be praised and I unnoticed...
That others may be preferred to me in everything...
That others may become holier than I, provided that I may become as holy as I should...
JESUS, GRANT ME THE GRACE TO DESIRE IT!!!
Amen.

PRAYER FOR TRUE HUMILITY
Dear heavenly Lord,
why do I hide behind a mask?
You see right through me.
When I say I can’t or won’t
acting humble and meek,
is it really out of fear?
Or maybe I just don’t care.
Break down the barriers, oh Lord.
Open up my hard heart
to let you enter inside.
Show me, oh loving Lord,
that true humility
is letting you into my life
to quiet my fears,
to heal my wounds,
and to set me free.
Let my relationship with You be
intimate and clear,
united with the Father, the Son and
the Holy Spirit.
Nothing to run from, nothing to hide,
only purity, truth, love and faithfulness
to your eternal will.
Give me a confident voice, oh Lord,
to speak simply and clearly of
my love for You.
Take away my insecurity,
may I trust in Christ alone!
In Jesus name,
Amen.

I looked in the mirror
I looked in the mirror and what did I see but a little old lady peering back at me. With bags and sags and wrinkles and wispy white hair and I asked my reflection, how did you get there?
You once were straight and vigourous and now you’re stooped and weak, when I tried so hard to keep you from becoming an antique.
My reflections eyes twinkled as she solemnly replied you’re looking at the gift wrap and not the jewel inside. A living gem and precious, of unimagined worth, unique and true, the real you, the only you on earth. The years that spoil your gift wrap with other things more cruel, should purify and strengthen and polish up that jewel. So focus your attention on the inside not the out. On being kinder, wiser, more content, and more devout.
Then, when your gift-wrap is stripped away your jewel will be set free, to radiate God’s glory through all eternity.
How to Pray the Rosary
Rosary beads help Catholics count their prayers. More importantly, Catholics pray the rosary as a means of entreaty to ask God for a special favor, such as helping a loved one recover from an illness, or to thank God for blessings received — a new baby, a new job, a new moon.

-
On the crucifix, make the sign of the cross and then pray the Apostles’ Creed.
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified; died, and was buried. He descended into Hell; the third day He arose again from the dead; He ascended into Heaven, sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
-
On the next large bead, say the Our Father.
Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, Amen.
-
On the following three small beads, pray three Hail Marys.
Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
-
On the chain, pray the Glory Be.
-
Glory be to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
-
On the large bead, meditate on the first mystery and pray the Our Father.
You pray mysteries for each of the five sections (decades) of the rosary according to the day of the week:
-
Mondays and Saturdays:
The Joyful Mysteries remind the faithful of Christ’s birth: The Annunciation (Luke 1:26–38); The Visitation (Luke 1:39–56); The Nativity (Luke 2:1–21); The Presentation (Luke 2:22–38); The Finding of the Child Jesus in the Temple (Luke 2:41–52)
-
Tuesdays and Fridays:
The Sorrowful Mysteries recall Jesus’ passion and death: The Agony of Jesus in the Garden (Matthew 26:36–56); The Scourging at the Pillar (Matthew 27:26); The Crowning with Thorns (Matthew 27:27–31); The Carrying of the Cross (Matthew 27:32); The Crucifixion (Matthew 27:33–56).
-
Wednesdays and Sundays:
The Glorious Mysteries focus on the resurrection of Jesus and the glories of heaven: The Resurrection (John 20:1–29); The Ascension (Luke 24:36–53); The Descent of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:1–41); The Assumption of Mary, the Mother of God, into heaven; The Coronation of Mary in heaven.
-
Thursdays:
Pope John Paul II added The Mysteries of Light, also known as the Luminous Mysteries, in 2002: The Baptism in the River Jordan (Matthew 3:13–16); The Wedding Feast at Cana (John 2:1–11); The Preaching of the coming of the Kingdom of God (Mark 1:14–15); The Transfiguration (Matthew 17:1–8); The Institution of the Holy Eucharist (Matthew 26).
-
-
Skip the centerpiece medallion, and on the ten beads after that, pray a Hail Mary on each bead; on the chain, pray a Glory Be.
Although a decade is 10, these 12 prayers form a decade of the rosary.
Many Catholics add the Fatima Prayer after the Glory Be and before the next Our Father: O My Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell and lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of Thy mercy. Amen.
-
Repeat Steps 5 and 6 four more times to finish the next four decades.
-
At the end of your Rosary, say the Hail Holy Queen.
Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve, to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us; and after this our exile show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb Jesus, O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
Pray for us, O holy Mother of God. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
O God, whose only-begotten Son, by His life, death, and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal salvation; grant we beseech Thee, that meditating upon these mysteries of the most holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen
